“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”

Ephesians 5:19 · KJV

Eleven hymns written for this household play here around the clock, and the order is shuffled. The station deals the whole set, plays it through without repeating one, then shuffles again for the next pass. There’s no queue to build and nothing to pick first — tuning in sets you down in the middle of whatever happens to be sounding.

One pass takes 28 minutes. Open this page at four in the morning and it’s playing; open it at noon and it has moved on. Two people who tune in at the same moment still hear the same line: the shuffle is worked out from the clock, so it comes out the same for everyone.

Each hymn was written beside a story, and every one keeps its own page — the words, the reading it came from, and the recording you’re hearing now. The rotation is short on purpose. A household learns a hymn by meeting it again.

Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD.

Psalm 150:6 · KJV
